We loved the friendly and kind host, the nice room with its own AC, and the beautiful Japanese layout. the breakfast and tea were delicious, and the location was great - close to the geisha district, samurai district, and the castle. the value for money was excellent. As backpackers, we would definitely visit again!
We felt most welcome, no complaints whatsoever.

The warm hospitality of the owner made us feel right at home. Our children loved exploring the historic Higashi Chaya district, which is conveniently located near the minshuku. The breakfast was a delightful experience, with a variety of delicious traditional dishes that satisfied even our little ones' appetites. it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay for our family.
My children wanted a bathtub in our room for a more relaxing bath time.

The room at Minshuku Ginmatsu was cozy and welcoming, with a heated leg-warming table that was perfect for the chilly weather. It made me feel so snug and relaxed!
Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the shared bathroom. However, I understand that it might not bother others who are more comfortable with this setup.

We had a wonderful stay at Ginmatsu! The staff were so friendly and helpful, even bringing us a washing basket when we needed it. The dining area was well-equipped, with everything we needed including a toaster oven and rice cooker. The traditional Japanese breakfast was delicious and the location in the geisha district was perfect. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the owner, Junko, was so kind and attentive. We hope to return one day!
Would recommend this hotel.

The rooms were hella spacious, perfect for our squad of friends. The location was lit, right in the heart of the historic Geisha district. We had a wicked time exploring the traditional streets and checking out the sick sites nearby. Definitely a rad spot for young folks like us!
The only thing we'd ask for is a chill common area where we could hang out and party with other young peeps. It would've been awesome to have a cool lounge or bar vibe in the hotel.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The staff was very hospitable, welcoming, and helpful even though they didn't speak much English. Our room was spacious, with ample space to store our luggage. The hotel facilities were clean and tidy, and we enjoyed our Japanese-style breakfast. The hotel's location is just next to the historical Geisha district and very close to the bus stop, making transportation around this city extremely convenient.
Not obvious to find.
